BioEnergy International Ramps Up With $61 Million

NORWELL, MA -- Alternative energy company BioEnergy International, LLC announced the closing of a new round of funding, receiving $61.6 million from a syndicate of private equity investors.

BioEnergy is focused on developing biorefineries and specialized technologies aimed at producing fuels and chemicals from renewable resources.

Investors in the round were Plainfield Asset Management, Camulos Capital, Itera Ethanol and Context Capital Management.  The company will use the proceeds to diversify its product mix and generate secure cash flow from its conventional ethanol platform.
